What this guide covers
Accountant access is designed for review and handoff, not handing over control of your HMRC account. You stay in charge of edits, connections, billing, and submissions.
1. Open Accountant Access from Account
In the Account workspace, choose Accountant Access and enter your accountant's email address. The invitation creates a read-only review path.
Open Account2. Understand what they can see
An accepted accountant can review transactions, evidence, invoices, payments, reports, and audit history. This gives them enough context to advise without needing your login.
Read the reports guide3. Keep control of sensitive actions
Only the account owner can change records, connect providers, manage billing, approve HMRC submissions, or revoke access.
See how SimpleTaxFlow works4. Revoke access when needed
Return to Accountant Access if the relationship changes. Revoking access removes the live workspace view while keeping the underlying business records intact.
Review account controlsBefore you move on
- The accountant email address is correct
- Records and reports are reviewed before inviting them in
- Owner-only actions remain under your control
- Access is revoked when it is no longer needed
