The short answer

Each company has its own transactions, receipts, invoices, rules, bank accounts and reports. One person operates the login. Your personal Tax page stays separate.

02

1. Open All businesses

Use All businesses from the account menu, then Add a company. Setup also offers I run a limited company.

2. Look up company

Enter the eight-character Companies House number, including leading zeroes, then choose Look up company. Check the returned name and dates. Enter or correct the accounting dates and choose whether the company is VAT registered.

3. Open the company books

Choose Add company and open books. The header switcher lists You and your companies. Switching opens that entity’s Home. Invoice payments remain in the entity of their invoice.

4. Keep capture separate

Upload company receipts or use that company’s forwarding address from Receipts. WhatsApp capture stays with your personal books. Keep each bank account and rule with its company. Corporation Tax estimates show Coming soon.

Before you move on

  • Use your own login
  • Check the selected entity before entering records
  • Never use a client’s HMRC sign-in
